The living room is often where you enjoy your home entertainment system, entertain guests and relax. Making it as comfortable as possible is a must. Here are some arranging ideas you can use to properly arrange the existing furniture.

First, measure the size of the living room. If you have a smaller room, you would need to have a single sofa, a chair and end tables. If your living room is large, then you can place a large sofa, a couple of extra chairs and coffee tables. You need to have a plan when setting the furniture into place. When planning the arrangement, think of a centre of attraction. You can choose from items like your TV, bookcase, large wall art or fireplace to be the focal point. Once you have a point of focus, arrange all other furnishings in a way as to highlight the point of focus. Remember not to group all the focal points together. Moreover, arrange the furniture in a manner that can encourage conversation among the occupants. Do not place sofas and chairs too close to each other, though. Otherwise, it would become difficult to move around in the living room. There should also be a gap between the sofa and the coffee table, enough for you to be able to place your legs comfortably.
