The Designer
Designed in 1954 as part of a seating series that US Retro designer Florence knoll (1917-present) modestly called the "fill-in pieces that no one else wants to do." She refers to her own line of interior design lounge seating as the equivalent of "meat and potatoes", adding "I needed the piece of furniture for the job and it wasn't there, so I designed it," and so she created the Florence Knoll sofa and Florence Knoll Lounge chair.
